New habits are beginning to form…

DSC00504I’ve been doing this whole shrinking thing for a couple of months now.  I won’t say that the process is easy, but it is easier.  Exercise isn’t fun.  I probably will never be the type of person that goes for a run “to relieve stress.” (Haven’t those people ever heard or Oreos?)  But when I exercise now, I know what to expect and how to do thing properly.  Nicole Irlbeck from Restoration Fitness has been such a steady, comforting presence in my life.   She is a kind (and incredibly patient) person who not only pushes me physically, but helps me with the mental battles as well.

As far as the food goes, I’ve become accustomed to smaller portions of healthier food (major thanks to The Organic Dish for this lesson).  I still have the occasional battle, but I don’t have ten a day like I did a few months ago.   I’ve learned that if I need to “cheat” by eating something sweet or am craving something fatty, that I need to confine it to one meal on Sunday.  Sunday is the day that my family is all home, so I have plenty of eyes on me to make sure it doesn’t go too far!  Knowing that I can have that little indulgence once a week keeps me from going completely insane.

I’ve made my peace with two pounds a week.  I’ll never be completely happy with that, but I’ve come to be thankful for it none the less.

Don’t forget to get in your submissions for the giveaway.  Just link to my blog, facebook, website, or twitter account and email me at seesarashrink@gmail.com to let me know.  You could win 2 1.5 hour sessions with Nicole for a fitness jumpstart, a $270 value!  We will draw the name of the winner next week.
